International roaming is when you use mobile data while in a country outside of your home zone.

International calling and texting is when you make a wireless call or send a text message to a country outside of your home zone, regardless of where you are making the call from (e.g. the US, the country you are calling/texting, or anywhere else in the world).

In addition to the standard Pronto terms of service, these terms apply to Pronto apply to International Voice, Messaging and Roaming Services. 

An paid Pronto plan is required to purchase add-on International Services. International data roaming is available for $7.50 in many but not all countries—it is your responsibility to check before you travel here. Service (including 1 GB of data) is available for 24 hours from activation. Speeds, coverage and device compatibility vary based on location and roaming partners’ networks. While we work hard to ensure you’re connected to a leading international mobile operator, Pronto Mobile is not responsible for their service or service quality. Usage is rounded up to the nearest MB each session. Limit 2 passes per 24 hours. Activating a new pass terminates any remaining value of prior pass. International rates and destinations are subject to change without notice. Calls and text to the United States are always free. International text and calling rates apply when in the United States or any other country where Pronto offers service. For clarify, a calling a Paris number while in Paris would be charged as an International call. Check here for the latest rates and information. In some countries, Pronto may have interconnectivity with some but not all mobile carriers. Calls or texts to numbers of unsupported carriers will fail—and will not be charged. 

Whether you’re at home or roaming internationally, international voice and messaging rates apply only to outbound calls and text.

Calls and text messages you receive are always free of charge. Best of all? With Pronto, even when you’re abroad, you’re never charged for calls to your home zone. However, while data consumed by calling and messaging is small*, it does count against your plan allowance.  

*A 30-minute phone call consumes approximately 10 MB of mobile data, while a text message consumes only a few KB.

• Use Wi-Fi and apps like WhatsApp and FaceTime for calls and messages. 
• Turn on airplane mode, or turn data roaming and mobile data off to prevent data usage, when you don’t need it. 
• Download offline maps and content for use when on-the-go.
