International service access issues

Unless explicitly included in your Pro 30 or Premium 50, international services must be purchased prior to use.

Quick first checks:

  • Make sure Airplane mode is off.
  • Try turning off your mobile device, wait about 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
  • Check if service is available in the country you’re visiting, calling or texting.
  • Perform a manual network selection to a Partner Mobile roaming partner in that country at least three times.
  • Log in to your my.prontomobile.com account to ensure you have sufficient funds in your International wallet.

Issues with calls or text:

Double check the phone number and make sure you are dialing it correctly.

  • Dial the plus sign + followed by the country code before the number.
  • If using your phone’s native dialer, press and hold the zero (0) to add the plus sign.
  • To call/text US and Canada, dial +1, the area code, and the number (e.g., +1-555-555-5555).
  • To call/text other countries, dial + followed by the country code, city code, and number.
    • You can search and find the country code here
    • If there is a zero listed before the city code, remove the zero.
    • If you hear an automated message that says a two digit number, you must enter the number you hear to complete the call.
  • For emergency calls, dial 1-1-2 when traveling internationally.
    • 9-1-1 may also be used in some countries in addition to 1-1-2.
    • If in doubt, check the local directory or other resources for the emergency number in that country.
  • Toll-free numbers like 1-800 and 1-888 may not work while abroad. Seek alternative numbers for any you may want to call while travelling.

Issues with data

  • If you’ve validated that purchased/sufficiently funded data roaming, and tried the quick first checks above, follow our standard data troubleshooting steps here
  • Remember: Pronto’s automatic network switching is available in the United States only—at least for now!
