About your Pronto Mobile phone number
When you sign up for your 15 Day Free Pronto Trial, you will receive a Pronto wireless number.
Pronto numbers are actual wireless numbers—so they don’t have the same restrictions as a phone number provided by an OTT voice and messaging app (like Google Voice, for example). Specifically, Pronto numbers:
- work with with one-time codes sent by institutions like your bank
- accepted by for use on OTT services like WhatsApp
- able to be ported to other wireless networks if you choose
Using your Pronto number: There are three key ways you’ll use your Pronto number:
- Logging in to the Pronto Mobile app: The Pronto Mobile app is your home base for signal quality and network switching insights, as well as for switching networks on-demand. Itis required to make and receive calls. The first time you log in to the Pronto Mobile app, we’ll ask for your Pronto number and text you a verification code to that number.
- Texting with Pronto: You can send and receive text messages with your Pronto plan just as you always do—using your standard iOS or Android messaging app. No set up is required. You can find further details here.
- Calling with Pronto: You can manually dial phone numbers and place calls from the Voice tab of the Pronto Mobile app. If you set Pronto as the default calling app in your device settings, calls will automatically be initiated by the Pronto Mobile app when you click on a contact or a recent call. Either way—you’ll receive and answer incoming calls just like you always do. You can find further details here.
Locating your Pronto number: Your Pronto number is available in three places:
- Subscription confirmation email: After signup, watch for an email with the subject line “You're in! Your Pronto trial starts now”—this email includes your Pronto number.
- Phone Settings/Pronto eSIM: Your phone number will appear under the name you selected for your Pronto eSIM. It will typically take 5 minutes for your Pronto number to appear; until then, you’ll see a non-functional placeholder number starting with +99.
- Pronto Mobile app: After your initial login (Pronto number required), you can find your Pronto number in the Account area of the app.
Known issue:
- We are experiencing intermittent issues where a customer does not immediately receive their subscription confirmation email or phone number in settings. In some cases, restarting the phone has resolved the issue. While we actively work to resolve this issue, please contact us if you do not receive your number.
