Automatic vs on-demand switching

Pronto gives you the best of both worlds—intelligent automatic switching and manual control when you want it.

Automatic switching (always on for your convenience): We continuously monitor your signal quality in the background. When your connection drops below our quality threshold, we automatically search for a stronger network and seamlessly switch you to it. You don't have to do anything—we handle it all behind the scenes to keep you connected.

On-demand switching (you're in control): The "Switch networks now" button in the Pronto Mobile app is your manual override. When you use on-demand switching, we'll connect you to another available network regardless of signal strength—then you can judge if it's better for your needs. It’s ideal to: 

  • Test that you really have access to all the networks
  • Trigger a switch when you want to experiment
  • Try a different network if you think there's a better option
Good to know: During active calls, automatic switching pauses to avoid dropping your conversation. But you can still use the manual switch button if needed (though you might experience a brief disconnection).
